Please Note: The model number of your LG-Nortel telephone can usually be found on a label stuck on the bottom of the phone.


iPECS LIP 8004D Digital Handsets

These telephones have a dedicated HEADSET jack found on the bottom of the phone, next to the HANDSET jack.

When using a headset in the headset jack, the Speaker button must be used to answer and release calls. This function needs to be activated:
Press TRANS/PGM, 61, 0, Hold/Save.

Please note that this over-rides the Speaker functionality (ie you cannot use the Speaker while in headset mode.

To restore Speaker mode:
Press TRANS/PGM, 61, 1, Hold/Save.

Plantronics corded:
Any H or HW series headset and a Polaris (27190-01) cable.

Plantronics CS60, CS70N & SupraPlusWireless:
Switch position 1, Transmit B, Receive 3, standard telephone cord wiring. This can also be used with the optional HL10 Handset Lifter.

GN Netcom corded:
Any "direct-connect" headset and a standard cable.

ADD-COM corded:
Any headset and a "Blue" cord.

Sennheiser Corded:
Any headset and a CSTD01 cable.

All these telephones have a dedicated HEADSET jack found on the bottom of the phone, next to the HANDSET jack.

When using a headset in the headset jack, the Speaker button must be used to answer and release calls. This function needs to be activated:

Press TRANS/PGM, 61, 0, Hold/Save.

Please Note:
  1. This function must be activated, even when you are using the EHS cable adapter.
  2. This over-rides the Speaker functionality (ie you cannot use the Speaker while in headset mode.

Press TRANS/PGM, 61, 1, Hold/Save.

The optional HL10 Handset Lifter can also be used with these headsets. However, when using the HL10, the headset must be connected via the handset jack not the headset jack.

These headset/phone combinations are also compatible with the LG-EHS-1492-30 ELECTRONICS HOOK SWITCH ADAPTER.

  1. This adapter enables the user to answer and release calls while they are away from their telephone (up to about 70 metres).
  2. When using this adapter, the audio connection is via the headset jack (which must be activated - see above).
  3. These phones can also be set to generate a ringing signal in your headset, as well as on your phone, when you receive a call. To set this function:

    Press TRANS/PGM, 62, 3, Hold/Save.

GN Netcom/Jabra corded:
Any "direct-connect" headset and a standard cable.

GN Netcom/Jabra Wireless:
  • GN9120, GN9330e, GN9350
  • Jabra Pro 920, Jabra Pro 9400 series

The optional GN1000 Handset Lifter can also be used with these headsets. However, when using the GN1000, the headset must be connected via the handset jack not the headset jack.
