Plantronics CS60 Wireless Headset In Depth

In early 2005, Plantronics introduced the CS60 Wireless Headset System to Australia. It was an instant success. Users found that it had a more modern styling than it's competition. It was also very comfortable to wear for long periods at a time.
The CS60 comes in two (2) models - Telephone Connection and USB Connection.

Both models look identical. However, the USB model connects to your PC, via the USB port, making it ideal for Cisco Call Manager Softphones.
Key Features
- 1.8 GHz DECT technology for secure, high quality audio.
- Noise-cancelling microphone.
- Fully rechargeable battery is easy to replace and provides up to 9 hours talk time with fast recharge.
- Up to 100 metre range claimed. However, I have NOT been able to achieve this. The operational range achieved is more like 25 - 30 metres.
- Mute button so you can privately consult with colleagues.
- Fully convertible with three (3) wearing styles - earloop, headband and neckband.
- Optional Plantronics HL10 Lifter for remote answering of your telephone.
- Super lightweight - over-the-ear configuration is only 27.5 grams.
- In-use indicator on microphone boom.
- Out of range warning by BEEP in your headset.

Extending the Life of Your CS60
Your CS60 wireless headset is designed to provide years of reliable service. However, there are a few things that you can do to help make sure that it does:
- Avoid allowing the battery to become completely discharged. Charge it whenever it is not in use. The battery cannot be overcharged, so it is ok to leave the headset in the base unit whenever you are not using it. If you notice a significant decrease in the maximum talk-time, the battery may be replaced with a Plantronics approved battery. The battery is found in the earpiece.
- If the earloop or head/neckbands become damaged or dirty they may be replaced or cleaned. To clean, remove these items from your headset and wash with warm water or water and a small amount of liquid soap.
- If your headset becomes damaged, it can be replaced without also replacing the base. Simply purchase a new headset from your supplier. Please note that this new headset will need to be registered/paired with the base. This document describes this process.
The Plantronics HL10 Remote Handset Lifter
This optional add-on unit allows you to enjoy the full mobility of cordless conversations. Roam your office knowing that you will be notified when a call is received. With the HL10, you can answer calls, and end them, from wherever your wireless headset takes you. You do not have to touch your telephone, simply press the "Talk" button on your headset. It works with over 90% of all business telephones. Unless your phone has a truly unusual design, it will work with yours.
